Hello
I am a vegan, I’ve been a vegan since may/2009, but before that I was a vegetarian for about 2 years. Anyways, my mom keeps telling me that she never knows what to get me, for food. I would love to tell her, and she can ask whatever she wants, I have done LOADS of research on veganism. But honestly there is never food in the house for me to eat. From time to time my mom would splurge and go to the living earth( a health food store ) and get me a few things, but they would only last me for about 2 days, maybe 3. Most of the time I go to bed hungry, I barely have any hot meals, I barely have any actual meals, I’m usualy eating snacks all day, healthy snacks ofcource though. My mom does know that I like all fruit and vegetables, and she does know that I know how to cook, and I do cook whenever I have the ingredients to cook, which isn’t very often. The only fruit I dont like are grapefruit and durian. But I’m NOT saying that my mom never buy’s me vegan food, she does, and I’m so lucky to have such a supportive mom, and lucky that she has a well paying job. But like I said before, whenever I get vegan food it only last’s a few day’s. As of now the only food in the house for me to eat are brazil nuts, mullberries, goji berries, cacao nibs, quinoa, soy milk, kashi cereal, and veggie hot dogs and veggie burgers, that is ALL. Tommorow she gets paid so I’m going to ask her if we can go tothe living earth to get food for me to eat. I can’t wait until I’m 16 so I can get a job and help my mom out with buying me vegan food and stuff, I turn 16 january 31st, but in the meantime, any tips?

Get a bag of brown rice, and some boxes of wheat pasta! They are both pretty cheap, and along with fresh veggies and spices, you can create MANY different kinds of meals! Also, get some beans as well. You don’t even need to go to a special grocery store. =]

exactly. go bulk with your grains and beans.
get cheaper foods than goji berries and brazil nuts. try buying local or from a farmers market. Much cheaper/healthier.
